There’s nothing sweeter than watching your friends accomplish something incredible — and this St. Edward’s University graduation session in Austin was extra special for me. My sweet friend Dez is officially an alum!
Dez and I first met during their freshman year when they joined Ballet Folklórico at St. Edward’s University. From day one, they’ve been such an inspiring, courageous, and loving friend. Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of seeing Dez shine in countless ways, and now they’ve walked the stage with not just one, but two degrees and so many well-earned accolades.
What made this session even more meaningful was that Dez brought their mom along. Including someone special in your senior photos — whether it’s a parent, sibling, or best friend — adds an extra layer of love and significance. These are the moments you’ll both look back on for years to come, remembering the pride, joy, and love that came with this milestone.
As an Austin senior photographer, I always encourage my grads to bring along the people who’ve supported them through their journey. Just like Dez did, it’s a beautiful way to celebrate not only your own accomplishments but the ones who’ve cheered you on every step of the way.
Congratulations, Dez! I’m so proud of everything you’ve achieved, and I cannot wait to see how far you’ll go from here.
