When I was in second grade, I discovered my parents’ 600 Film Polaroid camera. Somehow, there was still film inside of the camera and the camera worked! I spent that night taking pictures of my family and puppy. The next day, I convinced my parents to let me take it to class and took pictures of my friends. I instantly fell in love with capturing memories; I had no idea at the time but that day changed my life.
It seems like we can't live without our phones. People are constantly on-the-go and our phones are there every step of the way. Before my DSLR camera, I relied on my phone's camera and I continue to use my phone to take pictures when my camera is not around. Over the years and through a lot of testing, I have found very useful apps that I use almost everyday and on most of my pictures.
One of the most intimidating aspects of photography is the cost of equipment. As a beginner and a college student, I did not even want to think of how much I needed to spend on gear. My first personal camera was a point-and-shoot and I quickly grew out of it. Sometimes you just need to take a leap of faith and follow your dreams! A dream I have had for most of my life is to travel the world, which comes from my parents’ love for travel, especially from my mom. And now, it’s my turn! Just this January, I decided I was no longer going to let fear get in my way and I applied to study abroad. I only told those closest to me about my decision, just in case it did not work out. I prayed for so long so that God could help me make the right decision.
